Dawn Staley - South Carolina - Sweet 16 run this year which has not yet ended along with her legacy as a player makes her a splash hire potentially at Texas. Staley has taken two programs who do not have the most tradition in women's basketball and turned them in to winners during March Madness. With her ability to recruit and drive to win she would be a great candidate at Texas.
Katie Meier - Miami - Could not get out of the first weekend with a hard break that Riquana Williams could not suit up for the Cane's this past weekend but it doesnt diminish the fact that Meier had Miami as a fixture in the Top 10 Nationally the past two years during the regular season. Meier would be someone fresh and energetic to take over the Texas program and its a much easier job then Miami.
Cynthia Cooper-Dyke - UNC Wilmington - Nearly took Wilmington to the tournament the past two years after resurecting them out of the depths of the Colonial Cooper has strong Texas ties and another big time playing legacy to lure recruits, fans, and boosters alike. Cooper took Prarie View to the NCAA Tournament and certainly could get Texas back on track.
Melanie Balcomb - Vanderbilt - A proven winner at a high level in a very competitive league. Balcomb could win at Texas right away because of her savvy ability with X's and O's. Balcomb has been able to get good enough talent at Vanderbilt but would have to go for the big prizes in the Lone Star state and if they could get the talent you would think they could she could have them deep in the post season very quickly.
